The movement is removed from the case and mounted in the movement holder. Dial and hands are both in excellent condition although the minute hand doesn’t follow the contour of the dial exactly so will be lightly curved down at its end when re-fitting.
Dial removed and the front of the movement is complete and in nice condition although there is a lot of grease in the keyless works on the right hand side.
All the dial side components are removed and then the movement is turned back over to remove everything else.
The parts are distributed into the cleaning baskets with delicate and small parts in individual containers.
Those small containers have lids.
And then the baskets are stacked so they can be fitted to the automatic cleaning machine.
I use an Elmasolvex RM 4 jar automatic cleaning machine. This uses 4 jars where the first has a cleaning solution and the remaining three have rinse fluids. The last hole on the right is the dryer.
After cleaning, the parts are stored in this container which has a clear plastic lid – the parts are, starting from the top segment and working clockwise:
